Got my annual review at work today. I hate review day. It's just what I don't need - a brutal re-affirmation of every mistake I've made at work in the last year. The only thing that makes it bearable is that I get a raise at the end of it, and then some sweet back pay on my next check since the review invariably happens a month or more late.
The worst part is, I got a positively glowing review this year compared to last, and yet my raise was smaller due to forces completely beyond my control.
Oh well, I'm still gainfully employed in a stable field and I make more money than I probably deserve, so things could certainly be worse.
