Florida Vacation - Day 15
Well, it's 11:45 am on February 5th. I'm blogging from the car right now, cuz I didn't blog last night cuz I was pretty tired and the net at the hotel crapped out on me.
Nothing too eventful has gone on, thankfully. There was a lot of rain when we were driving through Northern Georgia and part of Tennessee. And a lot of cop cars either at accident scenes or with people pulled over. I spent most of the day distracting myself with movies. I watched Cherrybomb and Wild Target, both of which I downloaded specifically cuz Rupert Grint is in them. *drools* And I also downloaded the mosr recent Jersey Shore and watched that and then there was gonna be another hour or so until we got to the hotel for the night, so I watched Saw 6. And I have to admit, I almost thought I was gonna throw up or pass out during the opening "game". loln
Anyway, we just stopped for a bathroom and coffee break and then we'll be stopping for lunch in a little while. Oh, and we saw a pretty good sized rainbow. I took some pix of it, but we'll see how well they turn out. So, since there's not much else to do or talk about, I thought I'd share some things that this vacation has taught (or re-taught) me...
- Lists are a wonderful thing and really help you keep track of all your stuff so you don't forget anything.
- Even if you only plan on being in the sun for a little bit, either put on a bikini or a high SPF sunblock cuz trying to fill in all the spots that aren't dark enough is a pain in the ass and time consuming.
- Bring moisturizer with aloe to help soothe the inevitable sunburn and help prevent peeling.
- Pack only what you really really need/will wear. You'll probably end up buying a few pieces of clothing while you're there and you'll only wear half of what you brought.
- Non-perishable snacks, like cups of applesauce and granola bars, are great for in the car.
- Always bring pain medication. It's great for cramps, headaches AND makes wearing a bra after getting a sunburn so much more comfortable. lol
- Check flyers for local Targets and Wal-Marts online before you leave. Based on exchange rates and tax percentages, it may actually be cheaper to buy things like shampoo and deodorant there instead of before you leave.
- Stick to small healthy meals (if you can). Nothing is worse than having digestive issues all through your vacation.
- Water. Drink plenty of water.
- Always make sure your camera is full charged and at the ready for whatever you may want to snap a shot of.
- When given the option, do something out of the ordinary or something you couldn't do at home. Go on crazy, scary rides or take pix with characters or people, even if you're not a fan. It's just fun and it's better to regret something you did and have the memory than to not have done anything at all.
- You're never too old to be in awe of theme parks and fireworks.
