been pretty damn busy since last week. still busy as a matter of fact. just taking advantadge of the fact that everyone had to log off the office server while some technical shit is being handled. so now i actually have a rare minute to breathe. but only a minute, so i will make it quick.
movies that i have seen recently:
superman returns: "worst...movie...ever". lousy story. plot holes all over the place. kevin spacey is the only one who made it barely tolerable.
idlewild: "worse than the worst...movie...ever". i am a huge outkast fan and i was really looking forward to this movie. i am SO glad i didnt see it in the theatres. ugh. i want to be paid for the time i wasted watching that trash
kinky boots: "fucking phenomenal" props to wifey for finding the cool flicks. you MUST see this movie. end of story. im not gonna talk about it.
so the birthday was cool...thanks for all the celebratory wishes. you guys rock. lately i have been in 24 hour work mode. all day at the office...then all night at home. im getting the tickets on friday for my trip to vegas (baby) next month. i already have 7 shoots lined up and another 4 that i am working out details. its going to be lots of fun.
i was in a funk about work. i feel it has been sucking me dry. the shit i do is so mundane. it doesnt challenge me creatively or intellectually. then when i get home, i just feel so blah and i cant pull it together to be sharp for my other work. its like im stuck in neutral.
and then last night...out of nowhere (or maybe because of the weed)...i got my spark back. ive been working on designs for the sites for the girls and i just got into the zone. i couldnt work fast enough to execute the ideas in my head. i was up until 4:30 but it was TOTALLY worth it. i am feeling better about things because for a while i was worried that i was losing my creativity. im still not where i want to be...but i am more excited about what i have to do. and that is what drives me. so its all good. i have to do 2 sites, business cards, and a video trailer all in the next few weeks.
due to the recent lack of sleep, i am in somewhat of a hazy fog. awake and functional but the edges are still a bit muted. thats probably the reason why i am more mellowed out at work today. ive been rockin seven steps to heaven and other miles davis classics. gettinig some good energy from that. now im just looking forward to tonight when i can get crackin again on some cool shit. so many more ideas. once i get the sites done for all my girls, im going to redo my own site. now that i have some kickass photos, i am going to make the site much stronger visually...sort of like a magazine. can't wait to get crackin on that.
and speaking of ideas. while i sat in traffic for 2 hours this morning, i got a chance to think about the screenplay/story idea ive been developing for a couple months now. i think it would really rock as a play. im thinking of integrating video and dance along with contemporary songs to advance the story. i'm sure someone has already done something along these lines...but whereas many stageplays are adapted to screen, my concept is to take an idea for the screen, and distill it to a play...and then funk it up with some multimedia. i am going to start working on the script on the plane out to and back from vegas (baby).
well, the server is still down. i think im going to get some fresh air for a little bit. even though its cool and rainy outside, its better than the drab gray and flourescent lit cubicle farm. i'll get back when i can. have a great day!
