and now for something completely different...

i am going to be tired, very tired, for a long time. i probably wont be getting much sleep between now and forever.

i'm not a big time movie director but i know what if feels like to wrap filming on a production. monday night we shot the last scene for the new DVD. and it was touch and go for a minute. in my last update i mentioned that i had booked a girl from philly to shoot the scene. well, i found out a couple of days later that she was not going to be available on the desired date. that meant i had to set in motion a series of events to try and reschedule which would have only delayed things. it seemed fitting that the project would end in with the same level of drama and uncertainty that plagued me from the start. of the 5 girls who will be on the final product, only 2 were part of the original plan. along the way 9 other girls were scheduled and later cancelled or flaked out.

as luck would have it, i got an email from a girl who was orginally going to be in the scene that i shot with avalonchase it was supposed to be a 3some but this girl didnt get her paperwork in time and we had to move on without her. well, she resurfaced just in time saying she was still interested and everything worked out well so that i was able to schedule her and keep the date originally planned for the last scene. so on monday, i was glad to welcome the lovely brina james who drove up from richmond, va to do the shoot.

she ran into all kinds of complications from being in a hit and run that involved a cop (yes, the cop hit her and drove off) to taking a wrong turn at the right exit and heading about 5 miles in the opposite direction. but she made it and we were able to go forward as planned. a buddy of mine works for a limo company and he hooked us with a discounted rate on a rental so we shot her scene in the back of the limo. the footage came out fair although its a bit darker than i would have liked (see what i mean) but it is still usable and can be cleaned up in post production so i am not too concerned.

i had been in limos before but never doing anything sexual. so this was a new experience. we drove around for the first part of the shoot and then found a secluded area to park and do the second part. it was a very tight space for someone as big as me. it was cramped in the back of the limo as well (can you hear me in the back?). we both got all kind of cramps in places that i didnt even know could get cramps. i have a LOT of editing work ahead of me with that scene.

after the limo part was done, we returned to the hotel to shoot some stills for the box cover and my site. i have to say that i was starting to get spoiled while filming this movie. the other scenes were shot at great locations like this one and this one and this one. but since we put money into the limo, we went low budget on the room and got a motel 6. damn that place was a fucking dive. they didnt even have an iron for guests. wtf? but it served it purpose for less than $60 so i wont bitch.

so i have a shitload of work ahead of me. tonight i update my site with a new video scene featuring me and my buddy rico shades tag-teaming a hot wife. then i get started with the editing of the DVD. it has to be ready for duplication by the end of the year which means i have 5 scenes plus bonus features a title sequence and product art to complete in just over a month. all of this while not missing a step at work or home and managing to keep my site updated regularly (which i am ashamed to admit i was doing a poor job of until recently) and handling a host of other design and administrative details for myself and the girls that my company represents (which now includes brina as well).

part of that work involves a trip this weekend to the big apple to shoot for my site and a site that i just found out needs to be up by dec. 5. travelling with me will be sexy ebony porn starlet, kianna jayde aka "the divine diva" aka "the petite princess of porn". and i will tell you, those monikers are well deserved. i love this girl. she is all about business. but she really is a diva. i woke up this morning to find out that she has announced her site will be launched on 12/5. thanks for the heads up sweetie. but she just returned from LA and was recently featured in AVN which is the Billboard Magazine or Wall Street Journal of the porn industry. shes got a lot of eyes on her so the better she looks, the better we all look.

i am not too concerned as the site is just a temporary site with a few pages and samples of work. so once i get the design locked, it wont take more than a day or two to put the site together. and we can talk design specifics on the trip up to NY this friday. we were planning on staying the weekend but she has to dance at a club in baltimore on saturday night so we will be coming back home on saturday afternoon (sorry jay).

i have to say that even though i have a massive amount of work on my plate, i couldnt be more excited. i finally have the chance to do some of the exciting creative things i have been wanting. kianna's site (as well as the sites i do for all the other girls) will be a great way for me to stretch my creative legs and employ techniques i just dont get to use too often at work. and this DVD is going to be my best video editing work to-date. im pulling out all the stops from processing to title treatments. i am REALLY looking forward to getting started.

one final note, the wife and i recently started getting into Six Feet Under thanks to Netflix. we just finished the first disc from season one and on it is a featurette about the making of the opening title sequence which was produced by digital kitchen. i thought it was interesting to hear them say that normally, the visuals are done first and the audio is added later. however they reversed the process for this project and allowed the music to direct them towards what should be done visually. i smiled as they talked about that because thats the way i have ALWAYS done my edits. its nice to get some validation of sorts...even if its indirectly.

and that will do it for this week. booty ca...er...DUTY calls.
