you didnt come here to make the choice. youve already made it. youre here to try to understand WHY you made it.
choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without
i so totally LOVE the matrix trilogy.
i'm watching reloaded right now which is probably my favorite of the three because it really is the glue that holds the rest of the story together and drops some of the heaviest shit that uber geek boys like me love to pontificate about. sure i have issues...but if i cant have sex, id rather be watching the matrix. the end result is about the same without the bodily fluids. and while i probably could have done without the neo/trinity sex scene, the party scene in zion with the dancing and the bodies and the sweat and the whoa....i remember parties like that. i would have LOVED to have been an extra for that scene. plus nona gaye and monica belluci are just too damn hot for words.
i remember when i saw the first movie for the first time. a buddy of mine and i were supposed to see something else, i cant even remember what it was, but the movie was sold out. so we decided to check out the matrix. it was a late thursday and we were taking a break from a web development project. hours of coding and staring at a monitor screen had us primed for some good entertainment. i had no idea what i was in for. the movie resonated with me in a way no other film has. not to the point where i thought i was one of the characters. it just allowed me to see things in different ways. there are days when i have a clarity of vision that is akin to the end of the first movie where neo is reborn and sees the agents and the world around him in code form. he sees the world for what it is and how it really works. sometimes, shit just clicks for me like that. i dont literally see code or anything. but i just have a clarity of vision that is pretty intense. its scary and at times, hard to understand because i see shit for what it really is. just dont often see what to DO with that information.
i have the ultimate collection which includes all three movies plus bonus content spread amongst 10 discs. every time i watch i see something new or gain a deeper level of understanding. ive played and completed both video games and if i had more time, i would totally play the online game. but that would be like crack for me. anyone who knows me will tell you that i make at least one matrix reference or analogy per day. i sound like a total dork when i say this but you can't tell me we arent living in the matrix right now. we may not be physically plugged into machines and fed a false reality in order to serve as a power source (or are we?)...but there are so many parallels between the world of the movie and the world in which we live. not to mention the trilogy is just a really well written work...even if the acting could leave a bit to be desired at times.
i was up until 6 AM yesterday and got only 1 hour of sleep before heading in to work. so i was like a zombie all day and very antisocial. i came home and crashed around 10 and now i am awake.
again.
