its going to be a good day today. busy. but good no less.
i am taking the day off so i can prep for a shoot. its not until tonight, but i have to pick up the girl from the airport at 4:20 (heh heh heh). its just so much easier for me when i dont have to deal with work on days that i shoot. lets face it, all i am going to be doing is thinking about the shoot so why bother with pretending like i am really working?
so the car still has a slight puke aroma left over from this weekend's adventure but what can you do? i gave it another round of carpet deodorizer so instead of smelling like puke, it smells like someone puked in a bottle of carpet deodorizer. oh well...its not that bad.
i can't say enough about how great my trip was this weekend. it was good not only because i got a chance to hang out with my kids but also because i really love making that drive in the fall. my route takes me through northwestern maryland and into western pennsylvania and through the appalachian mountains. this time of year, as the leaves are changing colors, its some of the most amazing countryside you'll ever see. espescially as you near the pennsylvania line and go up i-70.
i recall the first time i made that trip...sitting in the back seat of my parent's car on the way up to pittsburgh to start my first year of college. it seemed like such a long drive. now, i have made that trip so many times, i could do it with my eyes closed. it can be treacherous in the rain and downright scary when it snows. and the trucks show you no mercy as they come barreling around those hillside curves at speeds in excess of 80 MPH. but if you can handle a couple of tricky spots, the rest of the ride is really a nice relaxing journey.
well, its tuesday. that means i'm off to do my weekly session with the kids at the school. after that its back here for a bit to gather the gear and prep for the shoot before heading off to the airport. i'll have all sorts of juicy details from tonight's shoot in tomorrows "hump day" entry. till then, have a kickass day!

When I lived in NC, I used to love the drive to Buffalo. WV was the best because of the mountains. It was a 10 hour trip, but I loved it.
I may have to rent a car soon and take a drive somewhere.....
