It Should Have Been Awkward...
I worked at Penguin's from 11 am until 9 pm on Thursday(with a 45 minute break to go home and change before the "speed dating" thing down at the club). The second shift was kinda stressful. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I was getting hungry(and therefore tired and cranky). The fact that our headliner(Cletus T. Judd) cancelled on us at 7:45 pm didn't help matters. Maybe I'm vintage, but the show must always go on, regardless of how you feel.
Afterwards, we went to Brick's to have a Woodpecker and meet back up with our friends. 40 minutes into the evening Walsh walks into the bar. Walsh is the current boyfriend of my ex Kathryn. Walsh also used to be my boy. We'd been roommates at Raines house, and he later moved into my house. I haven't seen or spoken to this man since he asked Kathryn out (while she was still living in my bedroom, even though we were "broken up"). Needless to say there was a little animosity between us.
Derek looks at me and asks if this is gonna be the night. Now Derek's a true friend and I knew he'd be there for me 100% when the time came. But I said now's not the time. Later Walsh and his friend are playing "Golden Tee" while Steph and I are playing "Silver Strike". We're back to back and not saying a word. Uncomfortable.
Later I go back to my table when I receive a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and it's Walsh. He asks if we can talk. "Do you hate me?." I told him"I did for a while", but due to the chain reaction of life I'm better.
And then we hugged, and in that instant - it was as if nothing ever happened between us. Because in the end - she'll just be another ex-girlfriend to him as well. He told me that he'd never deleted my number from his phone because he didn't believe the things he'd hear about me to be true, but he didn't know what to say if he called.
It should have been awkward, but it never was. It was as if nothing ever happened.
I still think it was weak for him to go after my main ex. But the fact that he was more of a man than I was tonight, allowed me cast aside any past. I wouldn't hesitate to call him up and ask if he wants to roll down for some hot wings.
It was a good night.

Let me know about your tape as I'm very interested. I give pretty good critiques it's one of the things they taught me how to do in art school and I know comedy really well. I guees you could say I"m a bit of a comedy junkie.n One of my dream jobs would be a comedy writer for a show on HBO.
