So im at work and we are doing cargo operations at an oil rig. There's 40knot winds and it's storming rain with 14ft. Waves throwing the boat everywhere while 15-20,000 pounds pieces of equipment is being dropped down on us from a crane 180feet above us. A huge piece of equipment knocks one guy off the boat into the water and he is unconscious. So I pull the man overboard alarm and wake up the rest of the crew for assistance. Everything is set up for rescue and as I get into my wet gear I change my shoes and when I dive into the water, my hard hat gets blown off. I make it to the guy and drag him back to the boat and back on board. There were a few complications getting to this floating body under this rig. But he is safe and alive with minimal damage. So the boss on this rig, writes me up for not having my hard hat on and steel toe boots while I'm swimming to save his employee. Like are you kidding me???!!! Like I'm about to wear steel toe boots in the water to sink me to the bottom of the ocean and wear a hard hat the whole time... I saved this dudes life and I get in trouble. Someone please explain to me?

@soultry thanks sweetness! I'm no hero that's for sure, it's part of my job and that's how I operate. I like to help even though I usually get the shit end of the stick for it.
