Mood: ‘Boogie Shoes’, KC and the Sunshine Band
Been A While, But I Am Back To Share.
Things have been quite busy in one way or another since Thanksgiving of last year. Trying to catch up on reading after giving my writing a break until February, Christmas, another birthday, work getting ridiculously busy and so on. Add getting back to revising/editing my book and so forth, it’s really only been the last week or so things have slowed at work and sped up with my writing. Along with writing, my thoughts turned to writing. A blog. Here.
…and here we are!
As a side note, ‘Boogie Shoes’ was chosen as a ‘mood’ this blog as it is the weekend of my Dad’s 86th birthday, I’ve done cooking, got a lot of reading done and made some great progress on my book, so not only have I been boogying, I am in an upbeat mood, even if this damn knee won’t let me physically Boogy!
Revisiting, Rewriting and Reading
Getting back into the writing was not as easy as I thought it would be, especially as I began to really miss it, miss writing down the unexpected ways the tale might take me, find surprise in what the characters wound up doing. I’ve said that things remained pretty busy up through a few weeks ago, and this had a bit to do with just not having the mental energy when I sat down to write. It happens.
However, it really turned out to be the best thing in the end; there are a few situations and actions that occur towards then end of the book, and as it happened much of what needs to be written or rewritten percolated just enough time for me to know where to go next. I have almost revised the whole thing up to the point where those revisions and expansions to the end of the book are, and if things are kind this week, I should be at that part of the writing next weekend.
Oh, Those Castles In The Sky…
Several months ago in one of @starry’s livestreams, along with at least @jadestone, there was a fantasy of buying a castle where a bunch of us could live and create and it really was a fun fantasy. A few days ago I happened across a castle for sale in Scotland, and though it may not be perfect, if I could afford such a property I could afford any renovations that would make it so.
It has a enough space outside to put on a Medieval or Renaissance Fair, beautiful gardens, plenty of space and…
…my domain of the kitchens, though that would be one of the renovations (though there really wasn’t a good picture of the kitchen itself). It also has architecture that appeals to my personal aesthetic…
…but also has more modern and ultra modern areas.
It is a fine and fantastical dream!
At any road, that’s all I have time for this go round! Be well, all!
