I Was Going To Post Something Else Today, But…
Mom’s 85th birthday is on the 4th, just a few days away, and she requested no eating out. Probably because her two favorite places are at last a 40 minute drive and she is having really bad back days. So I determined to start celebrating a little early and made, well, have a look!
A Pumpkin Stew!Easy to make, quick (more or less) to bake, and delicious to eat! As it is the first day of October, I figured it’s be perfect, and it did go over quite well, as in the las picture almost half of it is gone.
Getting Ready For the Holidays With A Needed Remebrance.
A few months ago I lost one of my dearest and closest friends. Hallowe’en was one of our favorite times of year that we frequently celebrated with a bunch of other like friends, beginning with a live Hallowe’en stage show that Rand for the last two weekends of and including Hallowe’en should it not fall on a weekend.Movies, music, movies, treats, movies and movies we had in common and could repeat lines from Hallowe’en movies (did I mention movies?) all month long, finally going on a ghost tour of one of the haunted buildings in the area. This year, one of the early Hallowe’en shows we were in together is getting a reprisal, and I had tried to make it back to take on the role my buddy, Randy, had in the original run. It was okayed by the writer and director of the play and all I needed was an okay from my boss for two weeks off at the end of the month. It could not happen, unfortunately, as I am the only one who does what I do at my job, and quickly. So, it was not to be.
However, I am returning for the last weekend of the show and for Hallowe’en to honor Randy and with those who knew, loved and shared the love of Hallowe’en with him. It is needed.
It’s The Most Decorating Time Of The Year!
I tend to be a decorating fool when it comes to the Holidays, and Hallowe’en is the beginning. Now, it is true that I will be doing a little less decorating for Hallowe’en, as I will not be home for it, but I will also allow the decor to remain a little longer, as I prepare to switch it all out come Thanksgiving, for then cometh Christmas!
I now look forward to the coming explosion of fall colors that will soon grace the landscape of the East Coast!
