Where Am I In The Whole Process?
This photo doesn’t really answer where I am in the process, but does give an idea of how many words (unimportant) and pages (astounding!). To date, I have ‘finished’ all but the last part of the story, the return of Our Heroes to their people. ‘Finished’ in quotation marks because I am in the process of revisions of the last part, realizing I need a few more bits that I missed and correcting spelling and sentence clarity. That beins written here, when I get done with the final part and revisions of it, then I go back to the top and revise the whole thing and then I hope I can let it go and call it Finished.
The two words in parenthesis are because, first, when I write I am not counting words, I am writing what the characters either tell me or what I need to tell the story and the second because I never thought the story would get to 300 pages let alone the seeming likely 400!
Progress. What Progress?
Of late, the writing has been in fits and bits. I do get too damn lazy during the week, in essence as I see it, and yet working four 10-hour days with an hour for lunch means an 11 hour day, not including waking from 4:30am until sleeping at 8:30pm. There are, after making and consuming dinner, maybe 2 hours that could be given over to writing, but with a very busy day it is hard to be in the writing mindset.
However, I find for me that writing or at least the ideas for doing so, keep going on in the mind as daily Life goes about It’s business and almost always helps for better ideas as to how to forge ahead or add more to a scene or character development.
I do wish for the leisure time or a good weeks’ vacation to simply write, though. Leave YouTube alone, put on the kind of music that helps fuel the imagination and get this book done and out of my head so I can move on to the research needed for other few ideas brewing on the Writer’s Backburner….
Be well and may Peace follow you all your days.
