So, the Strapping Young Lad show this weekend was pretty frickin' awesome. It was the 3rd time that I've seeen them in the past two years, but still they blew my mind...out of my ass...and onto the floor, where it then continued to be blown. It was a pretty short show overall. I only saw about 10 minutes alltogether of the opening bands; beer in the Owl was more appealing. Check out the newly re-monikered Dolce's journal for the exciting details of the girl fighting afterwards. Yeah, my friend (the male in the love/hate triangle) is a huge asshole.
I had to attend a "meeting" thing for work this morning. The managers were talking and showing videos about how "we're a great, fun company and we're growing more and more every year and...", crap like that. Then the manager was talking about our flyers that we send through the mail every week for some reason, and she mentions that "the amount of trees that are cut down every year to make our flyers could fill Stanely Park". That's a lot of trees. And she said this like it was something that would impress us. Then she jokingly said, "yeah, we're not the most enviromentaly friendly company. Haha!". I though that huge, evil companies weren't supposed to brag about how thoroughly they rape the planet. yeesh. Fortunately when I looked around I saw that I wasn't the only one with an incredulous look of disgust on my face. So we're not all brainwashed yet.
I'm in the process of adding pics from last weekend's SG get-together as well as some shots from the SYL show to my pics folder. By the time that you're reading this they'll probably be up. Enjoy!
