I am having more fun in St. Paul, Minnesota than anyone should be allowed to have!

nufaname:
Oh I didn't know you still used this blog.

I'm really looking forward to your new book. I've got quite the Brad Warner collection already, but sometimes at night, when it's real quiet, I can hearing them calling out for their unborn friend. There seems to be a distinct lack of books on Sex from a Buddhist perspective. I'm glad that someone has finally decided to address an issue that so many others either pussy foot around or ignore completely.

Also, When are you touring Australia?! You have quite a few fans here in Aussieland, We have Zen centres too! (note, Centres, not Centers. I really hate that my spellchecker picks me up on this.)

P.S - I signed up to SG because of your columns. But after they let all their columnists go, I stayed on because, well, you know.
brad_warner:
Hey thanks! I'd looooove to go to the Land of Oz. But I'm not wealthy enough to jet down there on my own money. If I could find a sponsor of some sort I'd go in a heartbeat. Do my books sell in Australia?

There was a peculiar notion going around my high school in the white bread and meatloaf suburb of Akron, Ohio where I grew up that said that bands like DEVO were wimp rock. But seeing DEVO at the Music Box Theater in Hollywood where I had the privilege of sitting in on the final rehearsal for their current tour gave the lie to that. Even...

Good luck in spreading the dharma. I think our world needs teachers right now--people who can point the way. I believe Obama's election had a lot to do with people's needs to be led, to be shown a new direction that was freer from greed and war than the last 8 years. And that also includes the individual's quest for a world of greater care and hope--compassion in action.
So, your teaching the zen way is an all-encompassing way to aim yourself in a new direction and see, hear and understand more of the larger world that is here all the time, all around us. Just like this (as my Zen Master Seung Sahn would say).smile

Hey dude, I just wanted to say thank you for everything. Hardcore Zen had a major impact on my life a few years ago, and with out that book and Dharma Punx, I wouldn't know about Buddhism today. Much love and respect.

I don't know why, but the expression "giving a talk" just struck me as odd. Ever wonder why we use it, instead of just saying "I will be talking"? I don't know. The phrase to me implies that you could "take a talk". I might try that sometime, instead of saying that I'm a good listener, I will say that I "am great at taking talks"

Just some randomness for you Brad. Keep doing what you do, brother.

Peace.

I'm in Germany now with scheduled stops in Finland and England. The list of dates is here:

All members who read this blog are ORDERED to come to the events. Also, mail me if you're around. I have bits of down time here & there and may need non-Zenny people to hang around with.

ROCK ON!!!

I just posted this on my regular blog. But it's kind of relevant to what I've been posting here:

I got an e-mail yesterday from a blogger who wanted my Zen dating advice. The blog is gonna come out next week and I'll link to it so you can see what I said.

It's weird she should ask me this now because I've been thinking...

I look all around the room, but that's because I'm super scattered and awkward. But she sounds like she was being rude. Bleh. Good luck dating.

I've given up on dating.

At least that's my stated intention as of today.

I wanna be like one of those guys in movies from the Forties, "Women! Who needs 'em?" But still not a homo. Not that there's anything wrong with being a homo, mind you. It's just that I'm not a homo.

I have a subscription to this site. What do I need...

I've given up dating too many times... devious lady types, always waiting until you think you have it worked out and then flirting with you long enough to build up your craving again... and during that time it seems like every woman on earth is some how interested in you... and then BAM... you suddenly are some sort of untouchable.

EDIT: Sorry for being a bit late. I didn't have internet for somewhere around 3 months and just got around to ACTUALLY visiting SG.
