Update time. I learned the day after Christmas my Dad had prostate cancer. While I know it's one of the most treatable forms of cancer, all I could hear were the words "cancer" in relation to my 75 year old father and I freaked. I think about my parents' death far more than I should. He's since had his surgery and it appears (knock wood) that the cancer was confined to his prostate, so he should be fine. After seemingly getting off easy, for now anyway, I can't help but feel a little embarrassed at my initial reaction.
