Well, not a bad weekend I guess. Pretty boring, as usual got outside a bit. Went to a movie, first time out of the house in way to long. skull
sluttygoodgirl:
So, you haven't said.......how did you like the movie?
sauda:
What did you see? There have been a lot of fairly entertaining movies out recently. Honestly, I am on of those ppl who doesn't think that you really need to have armor piercing bullets and guns equipt for that type of projectile as a civilian. That's fine way back when the Constitution was written - like a lot of things. We already threw what the founding fathers wanted right out the window. Origionally the plan was to revise the Constitution every few decades! That's why the ammendments, even they knew that time would change, and the country's docterines would need to change to keep up withthe times. True, they did a kick ass job at designing the constitution in the first place, so rarely has there been the need to give it an overhaul (ie, the removal of clauses dealing with slavery and black value, Women's right to vote, citizen's right to vote [it used to be just white male landowners!], etc.). Therefore, "anyone but Bush" is a starting point... if you recognize that Bush is not a good choice for president, he does not deserve another 4 years, then it is easier just to watch Kerry. Find something that you do like, and that speaks to you. I do not really think that the Dems are trying to take away rights. If anything, they are the ones more likely to preserve them. Dems are traditionally big government. This is a good thing! It means that programs can be funded for the community. They are the party that you will see your tax dollars back from, in the form of quality education for children, decent roads, afterschool programs to keep innercity kids offthe streets, etc. They subscribe, traditionally, much more to the school of thought where "the more you put into something, the more you get out of it." This is a universal truth. At the end of the day Kerry is a politician, and makes promises, some to most of which he may not be able to keep... but I do believe that he will try. More than what I can say for Bush. As far as right to free speech, I think that Tipper Gore is DEFINITELY the exception to the rule. As legislators (and their wives) they must be much more open minded, so as not to exclude anyone. The whole idea is that the president be the voice of the people. Kerry seems to be able to convey a difference between his personal beliefs and those beliefs of many people from many backgrounds in many circumstances. An example is how he handled the Abortion Question in Debate #2 last Friday. Seriously, if there is something that sticks out about Bush... could you tell me why you consider voting for him??? I mean, you've told me a lot about why you're not sure about Kerry... but is there something that Bush does/says/promises to do/say that makes you might want to vote for him? He is running a very negative campaign... I don't see any reason to vote for him - and at very least a handful of reasons why I'm so pro-Kerry. I'd like to hear a valid argument for Bush- really. Thanks for the dialouge, it is rather stimulating. wink

I'm finally getting out of my fucking house today. I'm going to see the movie Hero. Even though I'm going by myself it's just nice to get out, for something other than work. This will be some kind of record, first time out without the kiddie in almost two months. Wow what an exciting life I lead. All I know is it better be a...

It's the lyrics to 'Secret Journey' by the Police, on the Ghost in the Machine disc. I love it. smile
sauda:
Well, I would vote Kerry on the basis of his answer to the Abortion question. He seems to really be for the people. Will he be the greatest President of all time. No. But he brings much more hope to the campaign than "more of the same." Truthfully, if you subscribe to the "Flip-flopper" attacks, then I'll tell you this... I'd much rather have someone that can change his mind rationally based on new infomation. It shows that he knows now is a time for change. There are things that have to be turned around. Bush doesn't know better than "stay the course." I also think that the man does a piss poor job of being president. As president you must represent and respect all ideals... every religion and not let yours stand in the way, every background and not let yours stand in the way. Ultimately, there is not perfect choice. There is just not great, and marginally greater. With each passing day I feel that Kerry widens this gap in his favor. Also see the comment posted on my journal by Furin. smile Have yourself a great day and talk to you afterthe debate on Wednesday for sure!

I feel like I all my hopes and dreams were lost. I have no idea where or when this happened, but it sure does suck. I don't have anything I wanted(not material shit) and I don't see it anywhere in the near future. I know that stuff isn't just laid in your lap, but once you've lost almost everything material and otherwise it's so hard...

It's amazing how fast things change. Whether it be a flood of fucking emotions or whatever. My friend's best friend just hung himself over some girl. I don't know what to say. Today was a bad day, memories thoughts of things that will never again be. Forcing a smile never felt so wrong. skull mad

OK i've been trying to get some pics on here for two days. My digital camera won't load them into my computer all of sudden. I want to throw that p.o.s. acroos the room. I'm not computer inclined, everything I ever had that didn't work I'd just kick it till it did. But I'd be really pissed if I kicked that. Guess I'll keep trying mad skull

Some times I wish my brain would just go numb. I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster half the time. I know it's not as bad as it sometimes feels. I don't know anyone around here but Kya (my daughter) makes me smile more than any friend I've ever had. Just when I get feeling really down and out she seems to bring me a...

okay, just take the fact that Kerry seems to have an idea other than "stay the course." That mentality never works. If you're digging yourself a hole, what makes you think that if you keep digging it will make things any better? Bush is a total moron. Am I a huge Kerry lover, no. I just see him as a confident choice, much lesser of the evils. Not only does he seem to have an answer (maybe not the answer but a sensible answer none-the-less) to how to get out of a stable Iraq, but he recognizes what worked in North Korea. Bi-lateral talks. Bush is rangling other countries, like a bully with his toadies to put a stop to N. Korea's weapons program.

Domestically, that debate is yet to be had. However, Kerry has an idea. He's going to raise taxes. Nobody likes to hear those words, I don't - except I KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN. He's not nailing the poor or middle class, he's nailing people like himself. Tax the rich, they have the most money to fund what the government needs to do. It's the general philosophy of dems. The republicans will say "rasing taxes, you don't want to pay, do you? You have a right to the money you make." But the truth in that statement is not really directed at the American people as a whole, but rather to the top 10% or so. With this money he will be able to pay the "heros" (the firemen, the police, the park rangers, etc.) and have money to improve education. Bush has taken the greatest surplus in American History that Clinton left behind and turned it into the greatest deficit in proportion. Am I saying he led us to another Great Depression. Not really, just that he's proved he's a fuck up on the whole. I think it's someone else's turn to see what he can do. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, even if it is a bit cartoonish.

If that doesn't get you leaning to Kerry, come back with some questions, comments, etc. What would make you vote for Bush? (no, really, what is it? wink) Plus, Bushie (Republicans in general) want to appoint more conservative judges, which could lead to a real imbalance, one that most certainly will take on the right to choose. Or the constitutionalism of same sex marrige... think about the fellow Americans that would affect. Seriously, the social ramifications of the Republicans getting into office again is a HUGE concern to me. Hope that helped! smile

Yes but if they stayed heavy all the time eventually that would get repetetive.
We don't want them to become Korn do we?
I was pleased with their performance this time.
The majority of the songs they played were from the first 2 albums.

This is my first journal entry so it feels kinda strange to be writing where anyone can see. I just moved to Idaho and don't know anyone yet, I been more bored than ever in my whole life. I'm not good at meeting people so I just sit around listen to music or go hang out with my little girl. Man it's hard living where...

Hey there, got your email, welcome to SG, it's a great place smile Sorry to hear about the custody battle, that has got to be really hard. I felt weird writing in my journal at first too. My husband and I are separated right now, and that's hard as hell, and we don't have any kind of custody stuff going on. Anyway, feel free to email me and visit my journal often smile
