Spent Friday and Saturday on Radioactive Island with my friends Gojiro and Komodo. One is a giant lizard, the other is the world-famous Coma Boy. Shits and giggles. We passed the time beautifully.
It was then odd to end up at another place Sunday morning, completely unrelated, a back country road fourteen miles from a main road. Coyote Hills I think they call it. Flat fields of grass and mud and marshes with geese out there. I stood in the middle of the narrow road and pretended I could penetrate the heavy fog. A My Own Private Idaho Moment. I collapsed and layed down. I looked up into a grey that gradually turned into this rich blue mist. I didn't want to get up. Then a thought crossed my mind and repeated itself over and over, staying with me through the rest of the day: "The smell of sweat, soap, and wet grass. The smell of sweat, soap, and wet grass. The smell of sweat, soap, and wet grass..."
