So, I'm at my Mom's house in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Last night, about an hour after I got in, me and my brother Kyle watched an episode of Mr. Show and ate the dinner my Mom left for me, then we busted out...
THE SEGA GENESIS WITH SEGA MASTER SYSTEM CONVERTER ATTACHMENT!!!
We were able to play our Sega Master System games from the golden age of 1986 - 1988. We played this game:
AND BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF IT!!!
It's called Fantasy Zone II: The Maze and basically it's like PAC-MAN with spaceships and weapons! We had never beaten it before. There are 44 levels to play and as kids, our in-fighting always got the better of us. As adults, we were a lean, mean pellet-eating-spaceship-destroying machine.
I am so proud of us. We rule.
I also found out, that my favorite Sword & Sorcery video game of all time: Lord of the Sword is actually impossible to beat, unless you have a detailed map explaining the order of which you must visit each village to activate the appropirate "boss" characters you need to defeat. As a kid, no matter how often I played, I was never able to find any bosses after I beat the tree of Merril, so now, I feel vindicated and much less emasculated.
Unfortunately, I still haven't beat Tomb Raiser I so I still feel like a pussy.
