We headed over to Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale last night to catch the Street Dogs open for Social D.
Joel had called us the night before to tell us our names were on the Crosscheck label list, but when we arrived they couldn't find us. The guy looked and looked and kept apologizing, he was really helpful in an old-fashioned and very rare kind of way (most folks at bigger clubs don't give a shit). So he told us to wait while he got the tour manager for the Street Dogs.
So we wait and wait. The guy runs by us frantically a couple of times and say, "Sorry guys, I'm still lookin' for him."
He couldn't find him. Instead, who walks out but Mike McColgan in a Flogging Molly soccer shirt. Matt explains that it was Joel who tried to arrange this, and Mike goes,"Joel? Cool! OK, you guys are fine."
So there it was. They were great of course. The Social D crowd tends to be a little watered down, not too many people are aware of the Dogs or who Mike is, so there was a teeny pit and a small crowd at the stage. Some Boston kids were there in Celtics and DKM attire shaking their fists in the air.
Mike is the nice guy you expect a punk rock fireman from the glory days of DKM who sings the anthem at Red Sox games to be.

And yes... I LOVE when I get to meet someone so rockin' like you that is my age - it gives me hope that not EVERYONE in the world is so uptight - ha ha! I am so glad we are friends - you are so cool!!
Thanks for liking the new ink - I sure appreciate it!!
Oh, and with the moving... we are going to rent a house in this same neighborhood that we are in for one year so the kids can go to their school for another year and then our oldest daughter will be thru 6th grade... and then, after the year - we are hoping that we can move up north to a suburb of San Francisco. At least that is our plan right now... we will see how everything works out - but we are super excited and sooooo relieved to have the house sold!!
Hope you have a great night! Winx from Jinxi
