What a concert! Metal is alive and well. I knew Zakk would bring it, but I was amazed at how he never quit! One song right into another and another, and while the band took at least a ten minute break he ripped a furious guitar solo the entire time, and when they came back they went straight into another song. And I was very pleased to get to see Butcher Babies open. These two beautiful women really know how to put on a show. The band kicks ass, and these two lovely ladies trade vocals, alternating screams with actual singing. After their set, they signed their CD for me, and posed for a picture too. They were total bad asses on stage, and totally sweet off stage. What a night! Hopefully my hearing will recover...

Until he had his medical scare, Zakk was one of the hardest working musicians in the business: writing, recording and touring with Ozzy; writing, recording and turning with his band, BLS; writing and recording music for video games and TV (most notably ESPN). Even though Ozzy unceremoniously replaced him with Gus G. he's still going strong with BLS. I've been a BLS fan for years. Would love to see them live someday.

@deadguitarist, I've seen them twice now. It amazes me how much energy he has. When I saw them the second time, he still never took a break, shredding the guitar while everyone else was off stage.
