Is chivalry dead?

When did people stop holding the door open for others?

I am the only one who wishes that things were the way they used to be?

Or maybe I am just thinking about the typical Canadian stereotype because I have started noticing that these things dont happen anymore. I was recently called really polite when I was just saying things like please and thank you. I remember when I was young, being scolded if I didnt say those things or if I didnt hold the door open or if I didnt let somebody have my seat on the C-train if they had trouble standing on the moving train.

I don't think chivalry is dead, but I think it is on life support...
