I feel like so much ass. I feel like ass reheated and served all over again. I feel like day old ass. Would you like to know why?
I've had chronic ear infections since infancy. I've had tubes in my ears twice. I started getting migrains at age 10. Three years or so ago I went to an ENT for ear pain. I assumed I was getting an ear infection. I was wrong. He told me absolutely nothing was wrong and asked me if I suffered from migrains. I answered in the affirmative. He told me that's it's possible ear pain had become an aura for a migrain. An aura is some symptom that comes before a migrain, like sound or light sensitivity. He sent me home to wait for a migrain to occur withing the next 6 hours or so. It occured. I was pissed. My two biggest, chronic pains were now wapped up in eachother so I wouldn't know which was which.
That's the backstory. Friday I started feeling a little stuffy. I figured it was just a little sinus thing, popped a pill and went on with my day. Saturday was the same until about mid-afternoon when I got sudden, pulsating ear pain. I figured it was a migrain aura, especially with how quickly and intensly it came on. Severe ear pain is something I've learned to live with so I just went on with my day, waiting for the migrain to come. Sometime in the early evening I fell asleep on my couch.
I woke up Sunday morning, around 3am. The pain was so intense I wanted to vomit. There was fluid on the couch cushion. It was never a migrain aura. I called a cab to take me to the nearest hospital. I didn't shower and I didn't change. Balance was an issue so I'm sure I was one hell of a sight coming down those stairs. I spent a very large portion of my Sunday in the emergency room.
So how was your weekend?
