Went to OpenSpace in downtown Portland on Friday for a couple of bands and a suspension performance by Mark Batty. It was kinda long and slow, but you got to love seeing folks with three foot long skewers through their shoulders and hips and thighs, etc.. And it is always fun to watch girls hanging from hooks -- artistically, of course.
The Fourth was a cacophony of firecrackers and other small explosives. Back east they have outlawed most things that make a big bang, but yesterday in Portland it was kinda like having a picnic in Iraq.
A couple amazing hours of bang, bang, pop, pop.
I love this wacky city.

Heh, I'd love to come hang out for some beer and pool sometime. That'd be great.

Thanks for the Sargent tip. Suspensions, "Blade Runner," and Gibson... you sound like someone I'd wanna have a drink with when I get to pdx.
