i spent this past weekend in miami for ultra music festival! i go to a lot of music festivals, and i'd have to say this has been by far my favorite. i've got a lot of pictures and videos to share! we drove down late thursday night, and stayed w/ a friend. friday night we headed to the festival. we didn't get there until almost 10, and it ended at 12, so all we really did was hang out in the carl cox tent and dance a little. i was kinda bummed about missing royksopp and bt, but at big music festivals you can never expect to see everyone you want.







both friday and saturday night we stayed at a hotel on south beach. i think south beach is kinda over rated, and really over priced, but it's a good time. and we were super close to all the after parties. friday night we went to the dim mak after party at cameo which only ended up being a block away, it was sweet.

saturday morning or i guess afternoon, we woke up and laid by the pool for a little. then afterwards, i headed back to the room to shower, while my boy went to go get a slice of pizza. on his walk over to the place, he just happened to meet deadmau5 and got a picture with him. of course, of all times, it would be while i wasn't there!!!! but its still cool for him. not only was he excited about meeting joel (deadmau5) but he was also pretty stoked that the person who took the pic was joels girlfriend, who happens to be a playboy model



we headed back to the festival for day 2 early in the evening. we caught a little bit of moby, and then underworld and deadmau5.

after the show, our friends came back to our hotel. we were drinking, and lost track of time, so we didnt leave to go out till after 4am. we went to a club called arkadia, where they were having the mau5trap party. we were too late to see deadmau5 play there, but we did get to see skrillex play! it might have been the coolest thing i've ever done, even if we were only there for about an hour.

sunday night we went to see crystal castles, which didn't really impress me. i love their albums, but live i wasn't really feeling it.



saw a little bit of armin van buuren, which i really enjoyed. and during his show they had fog machines that filled the whole tent, you couldnt see a foot in front of you. it was awesome!



then we checked out david guetta who was on stage before the chemical brothers. the chemical brothers are really awesome live, we were up front for this show as well, and i was deaf the rest of the night.




so that was my ultra experience, which was pretty fucking awesome! if i ever come again, which better happen, i think it would almost be as cool to just save your money to go to the after parties. a lot of the artists and djs at the festival play at clubs into the early morning. its expensive as fuck, but a lot of fun sunday night we stayed at our friends house again. today we woke up and went to the beach. it started to rain not too long after we got there, but at least i got in a little beach time.
