Striving for meaning in a life without purpose is often difficult but there are moments to cling to. This morning I spent one and a half hours speaking to my parents via video call over a high speed internet connection and I am grateful for the peace and serenity that this occasional introduces to my life. I am now sipping a cup of coffee and listening to the new Bad Religion album. This album adds an element of meaning and joy to my life too because, not only does its aural quality appeal to me, it teaches me new words and promotes thought whist providing imagery of faraway places such as Los Angeles. The use of neologisms such as Precariat in a song is something that I find massively appealing. And a line such as Lets say we try to get this right, said the plutocrat to Jesus Christ is poetically beautiful but also introduces the idea of the wealthy (and greedy and controlling) element of society that governs the rest has a direct (or, at least, believes it does) communication with Jesus Christ. The line brings a broad smile to my face in its genius.
So, this nonsensical little scribble is to say... heres hoping for a peaceful day for everyone.
