in the corner
no one sees
chooses to look
says the innocuous,
'everything happens for a reason'
or,
'time heals all wounds'
like the wheelchair bound
walked around
not looked at in the eye
a chant might be heard,
if dared,
'please don't ask me for help'
in the corner
she doesn't stare
-'starry, starry night,'
i find myself humming.
