So okay, after that last little "teaser" post, here's my full update on the past weekend.
This is going to be long, so bear with me. Or don't. Do what makes you happy.
So Friday evening the beautiful and generally just plain wonderful Saveme arrived at my office. After giving her the grand tour, we came back to my apartment, and got her settled in, then it was off to the grocery store to shop for the weekend, and then to my favorite Chinese restaurant for some dinner. Then we came back and watched Underworld. I was surprised to like that movie, but hey, I guess sometimes you never know, right? We were both pretty tired, so we retired early.
So then Saturday morning, we got up, and I made some bacon, both for breakfast, and for the evening's chili, and then she made me some delicious pancakes and the best over-hard egg I've ever had! It was really nice to have someone cook for me. I'm usually the one doing all the cooking, which is totally okay, but it was nice to not have to for once.
After breakfast we got ready and headed downtown. We walked around a bit, and saw a few of my friends, went to Hot Topic, which I promised before her visit. Saveme found some really great nail polish, and a cool patch for her bag. Then we went to the Ben & Jerry's scoop shop and got some ice cream, and then headed down to the waterfront. It was a little chilly down there, but it was really nice and crisp. It felt like fall. Wait, I didn't blink and miss summer, did I?
After downtown we came back to my place. Saveme's poor hip was hurting her pretty badly by that point. So we came home and sat her down, and I made chili. It was really nice, and we got the chance to talk about a lot of things that are just better talked about in person. So then we had chili and watched a movie, and then once again it was time for bed. The days just seemed to go by so quickly.
Sunday we got up early and got ready for the Matsuri. Saveme gets mega points for being completely awesome all day. She was really helpful, and very understanding about how I had to divide my time a bit. My mom and my ten year old cousin Ashley were there. Ashley has been hanging around with my mom and me since she was born, so she's almost like a little sister. We get along really well. Anyway, she almost immediately took a shine to Saveme, and ended up dragging her around all over the place.
So here are some pictures from Sunday:
There was a lot more going on, but I didn't get a chance to get pictures of it all. I also unfortunately don't have any photos of the tea ceremony, as both of us (and Ash) participated it. It was really cool, but I had to drink green tea, which I hate. Thankfully you're only served three sips worth. On the whole, that Matsuri was a big success, and this year saw our highest attendance yet! I hope my poster had something to do with it.
Sunday night we ate leftover chili and watched The Adventures of Pete & Pete. It's one of my favorite shows from when I was a kid, and Saveme seemed to enjoy watching it with me, which made it all the better.
It snowed all Sunday night, so we decided that Saveme should spend another day, which I had no problem with at all. So we spent the day playing Boggle (my favorite game ever) and taking pictures.
Pictures! What?!
Then, sadly, our time together had to come to an end. We got up at five this morning, and Saveme was on her way back home.
I have to say, this was the best weekend I've had in I can't remember how long. I've been really down, and really stressed out for months now, and this visit was exactly what I needed. I really can't thank Saveme enough. She's a really amazing lady, and I couldn't be happier about finally getting to spend some time with her. I really hope to see her again.
Can you tell we got along?
I hope all of you are well! Especially those of you who actually read all that.

You gotta hold on tight during the shitty parts and they just make the good parts that much better.
Lots of love to you and yours!
