I am so so glad that I have the opportunite to talk about the most awesome crew of women that I know, and that happily, are part of my life since 2010!
Everything begun when I decided to start a roller derby league.
I just wanted to practice a sport, kick some asses and have fun, but I dind't imagine that this sport would bring me so much joy, friendship and opportunities.
This is the first official photo of our crew, in 2010, the year that we meet.
Some of the girls don't live here anymore, but we still keep in touch, we made a friendship that is for life.
We were only five, the group growned every year. It was awesome to be part of something big, and to see all those women growing together, learning with each other.
Sadly, the league (the Chilli Queens) is now over, but I still preserve a friendship with some of the girls, the ones who metter to me, the ones that I decided to keep near.
Today, we are not a roller derby league anymore, but we are still a crew, a group of women who love each other, and who still learn and grow together. Those are the ones that stayed by my side and that today, and ever ( I hope) I can call friends:
Last year was a dark period of my life, I had to fight against anxiety ( I am still fighting), I almost commited suicide. I was there, desperate, without hope, alone in my apartment, spouting, thinking about doing stupid things, planning stupid things, and then, I remembered my friends, I texted the girls, and they leave everything behind to rescue me of my own mind.
I can truly say that they saved my life, giving me the support that I needed in the time that I needed it the most.
We meet every month to talk about feminism, life, soul, series, movies, books, music, cosmos and absolutly everything that we feel like talking. I feel save, and I can be truly myself around those beautiful girls who are too amazing human beings.
They are my blessing <3 they are for live.
