Hey SG communite <3
I am so happy to talk about my halloween traditions, cause I have some pretty good memories that are connected with that date.
I was a lonely child.
I use to live in this city with 7.000 residents, so really tiny. And I didn't get along with the kids around my block.
Until the day I meet my best friend, the new girl who moved to the house next door. We get along in the moment that we saw each other. I had someone to play who liked the same thing as me, who was different in someway.
After a couple months, other two girls moved to the neighborhood.
We are 4 then, and we use to call ourselfs the Hag Girls. We are really deep into the magazine W.I.T.C.H, and after that, into Harry Potter.
Because of that, we are really connected with nature, runes, herbs and stones. One of the kids had a basement in her house, which is not a commum thing here in south Brazil. And he use to hang out there, learning about spells, tarot and all sort of occultism stuff.
Halloween was really an event for us.
It is not a thing to celebrate Halloween here in Brazil, but we use to throw a party in my friend's basement, and we use to spend all week planning. I even bought this book that I have until today, with Harry Potter's recipes, that we cooked for the night of halloween.
And then, in the night of Halloween we always use to do some sort of spells to bond or friendship even more, and we use to dance dressed in black around a table. It was so fun and special.
Until my parents find out about what we are doing in the basement.
They are catholics, the rigid type.
So, this friend of mine that had the basement was living the town that year, and as usual we planned a halloween party, but a even more special one, cause she was living town in a couple weeks. It was also a good bye party to our beloved friend.
That day, I was already dressed to go to the party, and so happy to spend the night with my friends, her mom let the girls even do a sleepover after the party. But my mom decided to forbidden me to go, she screamed, she hit me, she told me that Halloween was evil, and that I wasn't allow to participe the party.
It was so awful to stay home and not be able to say goodbye to my friend, not be able to celebrate.
And then Gabi moved, and I was only able to see the other two girl at school.
Since then, I was 14, or 15 years old. I didn't had a Halloween tradition anymore. I completely forget about how fun it was to celebrate halloween.
But tomorrow, I stopped for sometime and I thinked about all the good stuff that halloween means to me. All the freedom and joy that was to celebrate Halloween and to find myself in that awesome friendship with my Hag girls <3
So for now one, every halloween I will stop an hour to remember the awesome friends that I use to have, and how it made my childhood so amazing <3
I just created a new halloween tradition for myself.
I am glad that I am able to share that with you guys.
@missy and @rambo here it is my homework <3 thanks for the awesome subject.
XOXO, Bonnie Darko
P.S: I hope to throw a party next year and to cook the Harry Potter's recipes again, since this year it was not possible.
