BRANDED - Two weekends ago at Thunder in the Mountains (Denver, CO), I started my brand. I had four hours worth of work done and couldn't take anymore! I think I will have about 8 or 9 more hours to complete this piece. Of course - Sharrin Spector is doing the work. The "high" is sorta stoney, out of body, but nothing like a tattoo...

Congratulations on the branding. It's good to see someone else from DC. I'm new in town, and am interested in learning about the scene, but I don't have any contacts.

FYI - cutting deeper is not what is needed for my cutting, it's more a feature of my skin not holding marks. I've even tried the trough cut (much better method than cutting deeper!) and that didn't help much.
went to suicide girl show in DC last month or so - it sucked. started super late. venue was super smokey. preband was horrible. the girls recorded music was good. couldn't see the girls because you couldn't get close and the haze from ciggies (bleck) and they had NO moves. announcer said something about the girls having huge "boobs" - well girl friend had nothing...

Just so you know, the generally accepted way of replying to people's comments is to go to their journal and post your response there. I know it seems a little illogical, and it makes your journal comments seem out of sync, but you'll get used to it.
And if you care at all to have people accept you into the community and be nice and/or sympathetic, you may want to take a deep breath and say something positive about things before being so relentlessly critical. Perhaps you misunderstood what the burlesque show was about. Perhaps you missed out on some significant portions of the show because of the poor visibility (which it seems has been an epidemic that all the venues on the tour have had in common). I really don't know. But unless you are a little kinder in your criticisms, people are just going to assume you had unrealistic expectations going in and are just bitter.
Just tryin' to help. I know sometimes it seems this community sometimes assumes that every new person should somehow automatically know how things work and know all the customs.

when I went to the show I saw plenty of ink on the girls. you probrably weren't close enough to the stage. I agree the bands that played before the girls came on sucked. if you go to the black cat expect (or any other ,usic venue for that matter) expect lots of smoking.
