Do you know what sucks a donkeys ass? Identity theft. This year has kind of started out in a shithole.
So a couple weeks ago i started getting phone calls from sprint pcs saying that they want to talk about my account with them. and i tell them repeatedly that i don't have an account with them and that i've had a verizon phone for over five years now and to please stop calling me a trying to sell me an account. then i get a bill from them for almost three hundred dollars. so i called them up and spoke to their fraud department and had that account cancelled and found out that it had been ordered online and someone out there had some information on me. so i call up and order my credit report from all three companies (i've never done this even though people say that you should get one every year) a week later when i recieve it i find out that i have four credit cards in my name three of which are twice the limit and one has already been cancelled for lack of payment. also, there are two address' on my report that i've never lived at, one in philadelphia and the other right here in springfield. lucky me. so far i've called all the credit reporting companies and had a fraud alert put on my account so that if anyone wants to open a line of credit they have to call me personally and get my approval that it really is me. also all three companies are investigating the faulty credit cards. and already i had dell investment company call to say that someone (from the springfield address) is trying to open up a line of credit to buy a computer. luckily i think i may have caught this before it went to far. all this started happening at the end of last october. and there isn't any huge debts or things that have gone delinquint. hopefully this will all be cleared up. but i've had people tell me that this will follow me for years to come.
so when all this is done do you think i'll be able to press criminal charges against the people living at that address in springfield? because i know most of the accounts on my report are tied to that address. or is it a faulty address. it's in a really shitty neighborhood so i haven't had a chance to drive by and find out if that address really exists. or should i take things into my own hands??? (i don't know what i could possibly do though)
