OK so I'm still alive. N.O. is in no danger of going away. Everyday there seems to be more going on. Really the biggest drawback seems to be housing. If not for that I think you would have many more people back in town.

Well I made it thru no problem. Of course my cable is messing up so no internet.

see, thats what I think about it...I just talked to a firefighter who lives in my complex who was leaving to go to work, and he said we shouldn't have anything to worry about....maybe some busted windows, no power/water, but I dunno.....Everyone panicking is freaking me the hell out! Just look at my journal, half those ppl don't even live here and they're telling me to leave....I dunno....I do remember hearing the ppl from N.O. saying how at the last minute they really wished they had left, but realized they had no choice.....I dunno....scary, stay here in my *semi*safe apt...or brave the road and run the risk of running outta gas and/or get stuck in traffic? I just don't know, I wish I could be more calm....can you tell I'm nervous? LOL 
Went to work this morning, it sucks but got to pay bills. I got off and then went to volunteer again. It gets to you after a while. Yeah, three day weekends are wonderful. I'll be working the next 2 Mondays because of more training, so that sucks. It's hard to go back to 2 day weekends when I've been having 3 day weekends for the past three months.
I need to update. I have little to say tho. I did buy another truck. '86 ford f-250 with the 6.9 diesel. Drivable but not in great shape. It's got a wrecker rig in the bed with a winch thats worth more that whot I paid. I love getting a good deal and I was feeling wrong about not having a pickup.

Goddam! Those of you who live in Phoenix I feel for you. I lived there for a year but I don't remember it ever getting as hot as it is now. It's about the only time I've ever been happy about the Houston summers. (including when I was in Phoenix) Try and stay cool
