A bunch of us SF burlesque folk are filming a pilot for a burlesque TV show today, Basement Burlesque. It's "Like the Muppet Show for adults!" I've decided to do my number a cappella because of the licensing issue and because it's something I've been wanting to do for a while. The thing is... I don't sing in front of people. Nuh-uh. It's been a major fear of mine forever, but I guess I'd better get over it, because I'm singing for TV today.
My students don't believe me when I tell them that I used to be painfully shy, so I don't even bother trying to explain to them that I still am. I've been performing regularly (like daily to weekly, with relatively few breaks of a few months off) for over ten years, and I still get stage fright. Yup, good old pre-show butterflies. And you know what? The day I stop getting stage fright is the day I may as well pack it all in, because it means I'm no longer pushing my boundaries, and so what's the point?
I put up a bunch of pics from the most recent Pinup Modeling Workshop. Go on and have a look! Those girls look so gorgeous.
