Okay. So I don't know when this happened, but I started to take life MUCH too seriously. It's been so long since I've actually met someone who passes through my people filter that I think I may have forgotten what it's like just to relax and actually forget about the exact magnitude of the problems that assail humanity. I mean, shit be rough. People are...

So with three courses left, I'm finally signing back up to finish my Engineering degree. It's been so long that the university software automatically booted me out of the program, thinking, as its fallible computer logic is wont to do, that I had forgotten about all the work I had put into it. I've done enough of the leg work to know that I should...

There are some pretty amazing things going on...

Note the first listing under the Core Values header.
sockpuppet:
Yes indeed. I shall bookmark that one, and thank you for it.

I like the third Core Values one, as well. I think there's a lot of work to be done, and we have precious little time to do it.

When the fuck did life become an endless series of scenes through which my only option is to grin and bear it without complaining?
bombastic:
I think I'm just going to skip this question and move on to the next. I can't be expected to answer them all. And I can still likely get a decent mark overall...

I think I might be quitting my awesome job soon. I think the real truth is that I'm just not cut out for sales. These emergency situations and quotas and the whole deal is just not the types of things I find important enough to stress about. And because of that and the volume of work you have to do for sales, constantly harassing people...

I think there's a point in everyone's life when they realize that things are not as they would have hoped they could be. I'm not talking about the teenager wanting to be a professional athlete or movie star. I mean, that we think the world is a certain way or should be a certain way and find that it most certainly is not.

We're taught...

Come up with a better idea and then convince people in a charismatic way that your new regime will be better. Then you either raise a gorilla army or you strike during a depression and through swift posturing cease control of the country. Afterwards of course people will begin to disagree with your way and question why certain things are held in higher respect then other things which will eventually lead to your overthrowing unless you can convince the people they need you to survive.

Of course hard work is the standard, hard work from employee's means more profits for the company. There is no money in honesty my pie eyes dreamer.

As for the name change, I would hope based on the arrangement of the words people would see Ignorant Prodigy has an implied (of my) in the center of it. Otherwise I would say Prodigious Ignoramus... However I am well aware of the limited capacity for thought many people posses so I am happy to explain it to them. I also have the short form "Iggy Prod" which I can use in many instances to put the general public at ease.

It saddens me that I feel I alienate people because the subject of most of my thoughts involve something deeper than "I picked my nose today and found an orange spigot." It's depressing that most people treat the things they think are important with indifference and distance themselves from it. Or even worse, that they don't have any strong opinions on anything.

It's tough finding...

It's tough finding people who give a damn about anything.

Maybe you're just looking in the wrong place (it's a porn site, dude). Try not to sound so conceited - that'll REALLY alienate people.

_risforrad:
A more diplomatic way of making my point is that the message isn't always the problem - sometimes it's the delivery (as evidenced by my bitchy-sounding comment yesterday - sorry, I was cranky!). I agree that critical thinking skills aren't as valued as they should be in our society and I commend you for having and expressing opinions on important topics.

To be fair, I'll acknowledge that SG isn't JUST a porn site. It does bring people together from a demographic that is under-represented in main stream media and provides them with a forum for discussion and self-expression. Just because SG uses sex as it's main drawing point doesn't negate it's potential significance as a medium for activists (just look at Dan Savage's column).

That said, the SG discussion groups and news forums (which I realize you participate in) inevitably provide a more targeted way to find a receptive audience for one's opinions compared to a personal blog. Using a personal blog to muse about life's banal pleasantries doesn't necessarily make a person shallow - it's a form of entertainment and it's a way of fostering connections (even the most hard-core activists don't mind occasional chit chat).

To me, the sharing of a any type of relationship is something that's reserved for only the most important people in one's life. Imagine a linear chart. Zero to 100%. At zero are the people who you've never met, are never likely to meet and who has no impact in your life. 100% being the most important person in your life. I'd say you call...

I have considered Canada but I am not sure I want to go someplace SO COLD! There are a hell of allot of up sides to the place. The women from Canada on this site are some of the most beautiful women I have seen anywhere. How easy is it to get a job up there?
