Finals are over. What a relief.
I'm going home tomorrow. And that will be good for my sanity and my circulation. For some reason my hands are ALWAYS cold here. It is about twenty degrees pretty consistently, and that might be part of the reason. Nevertheless, I'll be glad to clear my head. Separate from the people whom I've spent a bit too much time with, and such.
Florida, well, it's not always the best place in the world. But it will be warm. And it'll be a change of pace.
I don't know when I'm going to get back up here. Probably around mid-January. And I'll probably still think about people here. Or one person, at least.
I've been writing a bit more. And I've a new appreciation for acrostic poetry thanks to the poet Harryette Mullen. Though, Gertrude Stein influenced her a lot it seems. And I wrote something that is vaguely Steinian.. which, I suppose, is apropos since I am a Stein.. with no relation to Ms. Gertrude.
I'm working on editing this:
piecemetal silverbronze gold goldpiece, toothed 'en edge-chewed shaped rounded & curved. power and lost it; where did it go? and you there! you with keys, dangling... in front of you and behind you tracking of bronzesilver goldbronze piece-curved; where are you and the key under your sandal turned in my mouth so that i open and spill out onto you silverbronze gold; treasure, spilled milk or anchors uprooted but still you are smiling as keys, there in your hand, and i, empty, and you, locked & full of me, smiling, knowing where your keys are
---
and i kinda like it.
and now.. me:
and two quilts i made!
