One of the really dorky things about me is that I love quotes... so in spirit of being true to myself, I'm implementing a 'Daily Quote' in my journal.
(or, maybe it's more in the spirit of 'I do this for my students every day and I have no studets right now'
)
So, without further ado...
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
Mark Twain

I was going to stay in last night... I really really really was... but once again, I didn't - I'm so easily swayed by cheap flattery and promise of possibly having fun.
And I did - I had a blast! And I barely even danced! The boys just crack me up - had some really weird, strange conversations. At least they have an excuse of being very very drunk... I, on the other hand, drink soda water!
I love Sunday School.
Oh, yeah... the cute young thing I was bitchy/snobby with in Penngrove was there. I walked over and appologized for my behavior, but, luckily, he thought I was ok... guess I was being a little hard on myself
Of course, I then proceeded to make a few more snobby comments about where and when I go out, only to have to eat crow as I remembered that, yes, I was going to be there the night in question, as I promised a friend I would.
Again, appologized... he laughed and all was good.
That's the beauty of cute young things - most are not used to people behaving in a civilized, mature manner (yet) - so making a point of appologizing or saying 'I was wrong' after the fact makes them think you are really cool. Oh, well, when it comes to 'cool', I guess I'll take what I can get.

Are you gonna go to the fair? I'm heading there tomorrow for Smash Mouth.
Umm... fair...
Yah... I have this thing about fairs - they scare the living daylights out of me - I haven't been to one in at least 15 years!
(seriously... I'm claustrophobic - more or less severely depending on the situation/stress level... and even though I have no trouble with crowds anywhere/anytime else, put me in a fair and all hell breaks loose. Plus, the dust.)
Have fun though - I know I'm totally missing out
(and, gee, you're having a really crappy week, aren't you? Smash Mouth tomorrow, Ozzfest on Thursday... I really feel for you!)
