It's the 15th anniversary of Tianamen! I can hardly believe it. Seems like yesterday I was a sophomore in college watching the Tianamen coverage on TV, seeing the tank roll toward that lone activist. Images like that become emblazoned on the brain. I heard that since 1989, the Chinese government has undetaken an erasure of the protests in Tianamen Square and their horrific culmination. Fifteen-year olds in China generally have no knowledge of it and don't seem to care.
If that didn't make me feel old enough, an intern at work asked me what "the bee's knees" meant. I guess "the bee's knees" isn't common parlance anymore. I told her what it meant, and she responded, "Where does the saying come from? Bees don't have knees, do they?"
