It is with some shame and no small degree of misery that I report that the dogs remain in the hell imposed on them.
But I can't stand it anymore, and tomorrow (or, um, later today actually) I'll be cutting those babes loose and taking them to an animal sanctuary if AC doesn't do its freaking job.
Over the weeked, I finally corralled the backing of my non-evil neighbors. They made calls to AC and took food and water over to the dogs. So AC now knows it's not just "the psycho cracker bitch" with the restraining order stirring up all the "trouble."
Nonetheless, AC waited until Monday to do its "investigation," and this is what the two officers did: they filled the dogs' water buckets and left. I could have chewed through razor wire.
So another round of calls has been made, and the AC should be rolling up on the dogs for investigation #2 early in the morn. If those dogs are still baking in the sun at 10 am tomorrow, I can't be held responsible for my actions. Uh, well, I guess I really can be -- but it won't matter because the dogs will be long gone and on their way to the refuge.
Don't worry if you don't hear from me for a while -- I'll just be in the tank awaiting my arraignment.
