Boy the Soprano hype machine, of which I have often been a member,
are out in number to cover the size and stink of the stool Mr. Chase dropped
on all of us in the so called Last Episode (as in Last Supper?). My own take is
that it was a cheap trick ending, I don't care who comes up with it it. When I was
in seventh grade, I often was kept after school because then as I now I talked
too much, and I said things that offended the Nuns who taught our classes. One
afternoon I was in the regular position, and knocked out a little piece of art which
I thought was clever enough to get me out of detention early. (In fact I think my
brother Paul showed me how to do it: I took a single blank piece a paper, and
wrote at the bottom of the page "a polar bear/ sitting on a fragment of a glacier/
in the middle of a blizzard." The Nun kept me two extra hours. Fair play to her.
If you are in the game, you swing for the wall. Otherwise give someone else the car keys
Clever? Maybe, for a junior in high school.. The genius David Chase is still afraid of his own heart.

*alternative reading: look at Tony's eyes when he looks up at the door the last time.
These are not the eyes of a Dad looking at this daughter.
