I dont think i am gonna go tree planting, its far to late to actually get into it this year, Im way too out of shape. I need to find something else to do this summer however.

Sounds like what you really want is right there in Alberta. a CSPA ticket. You can get a rig for the same as a midgrade laptop and then it's less than $20 a jump.
