I dreamt last night that I slept with Ozzy Osbourne backstage at one of his shows! That was fun. And then, in another dream I was trying to make my way off of a steep and snowy mountain, traversing dangerous edges all alone. I kept slipping and falling backwards, giving my heart a jolt, filling me with dread and adrenaline. I finally got to the top but had to ride a nightmare of a gondola that actually spun on it's axis. There were no seatbelts so you would just hope that you could hold on long enough for it to turn right side up before you were tossed around inside.
Man, I have been so sleepy the last couple of days. I keep meaning to get up and do something useful but I was feeling a little sick so I just let myself sleep. My sore throat is gone today at least, due to Miguel feeding me vitamins and water all day.
For the past week, andnowmiguel and I have been working on getting together photo submissions for the Erotic Art Festival. We put in hours and hours of pouring over photos, deliberating our choices. It's hard to know what they are going to really love because the jurors change every year. If you look at the website, some of the photos they do accept leave you wondering what the hell they were thinking. Last year I got a call from San Francisco based fetish photographer, Charles Gatewood , asking me to model for his workshop at the festival. I of course accepted and was excited to see him, as I had met him years earlier at the Anarchists book fair in SF.
Anyway, you can only submit 3 images with this criteria in mind:
The Seattle Erotic Art Festival was founded in 2002 by the Foundation for Sex Positive Culture (formerly Seattle's Sex Positive Community Center) to promote freedom of sexuality, speech and creativity through the erotic expression of fine art. We strive to exhibit work that:
is not easily found in mainstream galleries and museums
shows the diversity of human sexual expression
explores the incredible creativity with which artists approach the subject
avoids (or pokes fun at) clichs or stereotypical images
is selected on quality of execution, originality of subject, depth of emotion.
And so, with these things in mind, these are the photos we submitted:
Keep your fingers crossed for us
Well, I guess I am going to get my tangly headed self into the shower and get some work done. I'll leave you with some fun images Miguel and I came up with last week in the studio.
And a pretty picture of my sister on the night we all went out on her birthday.
xoxo
