What happens if a fight breaks out on BART and no one does anything? I was on a train tonight and all of a sudden I heard the sounds of bodies being pushed up against the walls of the train and people running back to the other end. I couldn't see what happened so I broke out and call the train operator. Apparently a fight broke between a couple of kids. I felt torn afterwards while we waited for the BART cops to come - the kid who started the fight ran off and went to another train, while we were stuck for 15 minutes waiting for the cops. I hate to bring the authorities in, but perhaps the threat that cops were coming defused the situation before it escalated into a more serious conflict. Or perhaps my daytime life as a middle class worker bee is really overcoming my upbringing... hmm...
