So last night was a blast, as usual. Everyone from my school was there, including some cute freshman who are "questioning." Perfect.
I wore a really short skirt (I'll put it up in my pics) that drew quite a few comments (from gay guys none the less!), and one of my really butch friends insisted on trying it on, to the horror of her girlfriend. It was pretty comical.
We are such fixtures at the drag king nights now that they all know us, so after a few drinks I was dancing with not one, but 2 of the girls on the stage. Hot!
I also did end up doing kareoke at the second bar we went to, but it was not nearly as good as last time since I was so wasted. Oh well. The highlight of the evening was seeing this adorable guy singing "Your Song" to his boyfriend. So cute!
The only problem was, I went a little overboard and had about 8 shots throughout the evening, causing me to a) drunk dial my ex to yell at him and b) throw up all over the parking lot. Not fun.
All in all, it was a great night, but now its back to reality- ie finals.

Borges is pretty good. I've always been more a fan of Bathes, Bathleme, Pynchon, Eco, and their literary descendants DeLillo, Wallace, Lyner. Good stuff to try to wrap your head around.
The compliment was well deserved. Really, a smashing pic.
Of course, any community that is open to all valid credit card holders won't be without its ickiness or its innocent victims, but I don't have the sense that there is any more of that here than the average high school cafeteria. (Sean might capably argue that there is less, since the SG folks (staff and members alike) make a conscious effort to resonate a certain aesthetic. And to make certain genres of member feel more welcome, and certain less welcome.)
Mind you, I have a dissertation-length answer to your question that is, perhaps, a little less precious, but I think I'm better saving that until you've gotten a few egg nogs in me at the next family holiday.
But I'd very much love to hear your thoughts on the same topic. (And if you sent them via the contact form, your thoughts might get to be a bit less party line than my own.)
