I fear for the future of America. I won't be here when it arrives, but I suspect it will be more like the French Revolution than the American Revolution. There is such a push from the Republicans to favor the wealthy against the rest of us that at some point there will be blood. Witness what happens in MA every summer at this time: 5,000 riders leave Sturbridge to ride to Provincetown, a distance of 180 miles, to raise money through donations/sponsors for cancer research. Over the last 10 years they have donated more than $30 million each year to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
At the other end of the political spectrum, unemployment benefits last year were extended only after the Democrats agreed to renew the tax breaks given to millionaires under Pres. G.W.Bush.
