It is day 1/14. The start of another work rotation and it starts with me in a foul mood.
Usually I am the happy one, meeting each challenge with a smile. Today, my ex is now my current after she flew from Kentucky to see me in Louisiana on my off days. She started the day by jumping down my throat because I told her that I can't just pack up and move out of my house to get an apartment with her immediately. She decided to find a place and got all excited about it. She lives at her mother's house in Kentucky. I have my own house and live alone in Louisiana, why should I drop everything and leave my house just to start over?
We did agree that a neutral state would be best but in the meantime she still wants me to move to Kentucky. Does that make sense to anyone at all? Or am I just selfish?
I got assigned to a job in Ohio, there is a deep loathing for snow in this being of mine. Plus a third of our crew is missing, some on vacation. Who takes a vacation in the first month of the year! The rest of the missing are in training classes.
But the good news is, I still love my job. I have a great group of friends and family. My girlfriend got to meet my family, by accident but they liked her. My little sister bought me a new buck knife! So bring it on night shift! I will face this rotation with a determination to do something extraordinary!
