I'm now a licensed bartender!

Completely unrelated, but about a year ago, I discovered that my business checking acccount had $10,000 more than it should have. Pleased and amazed, I worked out that Washington Mutual had credited the same deposit twice.
I called around, asking people I could trust for advice on what my options were -- could I just close out the account and take the balance to another bank?
My dad convinced me that they'd sue if I did, so I kept quiet, figuring that if a few months went by, I'd be in the clear. I checked the account balance every day.
It took Washington Mutual ten days to discover their error. No explanation or anything, just a cryptic form letter saying they adjusted my balance -$10,000, signed by the branch manager.
Yeck.

Congrats on becoming a bartender though. That's great.
Yeah, had it been me I'd have waited a few months myself before I closed out my account. By then you would have been able to proclaim plausible deniability.
