I mean if you are gonna get mad, why ask my opinion?

My girlfriend asked me yesterday if I was comfortable with her going to a holiday Christmas party with her friend (her ex, its a girl friend but they are bi). I am working night shifts. I made the mistake of answering honestly, stating that I wouldnt personally go to a party without her especially not with an ex of mine. And apparently an honest answer wasnt what she was looking for because I got accused of not trusting her, and using her past against her and basically turning it back on me... I told her she is gonna do what she wants to do anyways, and I never said she couldnt go to the party... just gave her my feelings about how I felt... honestly, if you are gonna get pissed off about how your partner feels, then why are you asking their opinion in the first place...

She knew deep down she was aware that there was a possibility that you wouldn't like to see her go out with an ex for a party. That's why she wanted to confirm. Now, it's not fair for her to be upset with you because you were honest in saying how you felt. Hope you guys got well!
