It's been decided that I'm moving to Austin. I don't have any real reason for going there, but I need a change. I'm trying to decide if I should rent a U-haul so I can take my furniture with me or if I should just buy new stuff when I get there. The U-hauls about 750 (with the hitch for my car), though I imagine I could easily spend just as much having to buy all new stuff. Also, it would save about 1,000 miles on my car, a car which I'm doubtful of being able to make it that far.

Is U-haul really that expensive? A friend of mine rented a truck from Penske to move from Nashville to Wisconsin, and that only cost them $500. Then again, that's not quite as far as a move from Georgia to Austin, I don't think...
