I just got back from a halloween party, it was pretty fun, but also kind of odd...it's hard to pinpoint exactly what was wrong, but everyone just seemed really strange and awkward around each other. There was probably a good 40 people there at one point, among my favorites being Buckethead, Steve Zissou and the brave little toaster, who did a fabulous toaster dance.
At one point during the night a procession of people dressed in black showed up beating drums and chanting in front of the house. We invited them to come drink with us and they did for a little while but left shortly after, though not before creeping everyone out. I also met a pretty nice girl at one point who was most likely hitting on me, but being the socially inept jackass I am I bored/awkward silenced her back to the other side of the yard. Go me. Things were starting to wind down so I decided to call it a night. Stepping off the front porch I noticed the brave litttle toaster. No longer the spry dancer I once knew, he was curled up into a ball and holding his head. Poor guy...
I'd say the overall tone of the night was very weird. It's like the ice never really broke and everyone just kind of kept to themselves until they started getting drunk, at which point they just made each other feel un comfortable. Not bad, not great...I give it a 6 out of 10 on the krunk o meter.

I love the fact that I'm the only chick in that picture.
I love Halloween, and ordinarily I'd go out...but dammit, I'm tired. *sigh* I'm getting old or something.
