I have this terrible issue with Nickelback. So, tonight after the OW meeting, Chris and I were driving home and we heard "Photograph" start playing and he immediately switched to another station and they were playing "Animals" sooooo we switched to another station and they were playing "Some Day." All three of these songs had just begun. It was like the Unholy Trio had decided to come hang out on our radio waves.
When I used to hear their songs occasionally, I thought they were ok, but then I heard where someone overlayed "Some Day" and "How You Remind Me" over each other and they crescendoed and decrescendoed at the same point and the music was basically the same chrods slightly changed, even the way he sang the songs was EXACTLY the same. Now, most bands have their own sound and they generally have songs that sound alike, take Creed for example, Mark Tremonte is one of the most stylized guitarists in musc. Then again, there is Kirk Hammett of Metallica, also very styllized, and some would say sell out-ish since after the Black Album; but nonetheless not bad. However, the difference between this is that the drums, bass, and timing are generally also NOT exactly the same as the rest of their songs and that is where Nickelback has fallen short, in my estimation.
As it is, I am good these days with music that tickles my fancy, but geeze! Is good music THAT hard to find, for fuck's sake!

As for Nickelback - they suck. I go to their hometown for work quite often...it's insanely small...no wonder they all wanted to leave. BUT why, oh why, do they have to torture the rest of us with their crap music? I don't know.
