Hi, you might know that I am the moderator for the Fanart group. And this topic itches my nerve for quite a while. What is when?

I would like to hear from you what your opinion is when someone turns you into AI Art - especially models here, you are free to write that in a private message to me, if you don't want to leave it as a comment here.

Before you come to any conclusion, no I will never go the lazy path of prompting a computer program. I enjoy the process of making art and learning way too much :)

Update: To have a better understanding what AI Art is, and how it works, and why artist are mad about it. Here is a video by Sam

I would agree, AI will never replace the real thing

I have been a professional artist for more than 40 years and have seen the cause and effect of computerization of an industry in real time. Some may argue that it will never replace real flesh and bone fine artists but I disagree. I have seen it completely decimate a way of life. For example, when I was younger there was an entire industry devoted to sign painters. Find me a sign painter today. Now any person with a computer can make a sign and have vinyl signs cut and printed for cars, trucks, businesses, create logos, etc. This is only one small example. On average fine artists will spend decades devoted to learning technique and developing a unique style for very small reward other than a feeling of self accomplishment. It has taken a skill and devalued it completely. I used to be able to make a living as a fine artist and travelled the world doing shows and winning awards. Now I haven't been able to sell a painting since anyone can "create" an AI "painting" in minutes when it would take me 50-100 hours to do the same. The end user could care less about the skill level needed or time invested, the only concern is can I get it cheaper or can I get it free. Now some of you will say that I am claiming sour grapes and this is just evolution but put yourself in a dedicated fine artists shoes and how would you feel about being replaced by someone or something that has zero dedication the the craft being able to replace what you do, your way of life and how you earn a living..
